Heroes and High Drama: 150th Melbourne Cup Exhibition Series

Travelling photographic exhibition, Heroes and High Drama: 150th Melbourne Cup Exhibition Series will be brought to Ballarat as part of the Victoria Racing Club's 150th Melbourne Cup celebrations.

Acknowledging the significance that the Melbourne Cup has made to Australia's sporting and cultural heritage, Heroes and High Drama: 150th Melbourne Cup Exhibition Series captures milestone moments of the race that stops the nation.

From champion mare Makybe Diva's third consecutive Emirates Melbourne Cup victory to Damien Oliver's emotional win on Media Puzzle in 2002, Heroes and High Drama will showcase an exciting visual story of the Melbourne Cup to the community and visitors of Ballarat.

Note: Walter Craig owned the horse Nimblefoot which won the 1870 Melbourne Cup. Ask the barman at Craig's to recount the story of "Craig's Dream" and view the painting of Nimblefoot in Craig's Historic Bar.
