The Australian Jazz Convention was established in 1945 to create an opportunity for Australian Jazz musicians and fans to gather and celebrate their music. For in excess of 65 years the AJC moved across Australia enabling musicians and delegates to gather in different communities.
Ballarat has been the proud host for the 70th and subsequent AJC’s. On 26th December 2018 the 73rd AJC will again transform Ballarat, Victoria, into the centre of Australian Jazz for one fantastic week
The 73rd AJC will present premium Australian jazz across venues in the historic quarter of this gold mining icon from Boxing Day until New Year’s Eve.
Musicians will jam in parks, on the street, and in the pubs in addition to programmed performances accessible through registration for the week or a day pass.
The AJC Executive Task Force, the team that has managed the very successful AJC’s since the 68th, will manage this Convention with the assistance of the Ballarat Jazz Club, the Ballarat City Council, local business and residents.
As we head toward the 73rd AJC this site and the Australian Jazz Convention Facebook page will provide you with all you need to know to join the week long party of jazz.
